Your employer may suspend you from work for health and safety reasons when you are ill. This may be because your employer thinks you are likely to do more damage to yourself or your fellow employees if you work.
If this happens, you are entitled to up to 26 weeks pay as long as you have worked for your employer continuously for one month and you make the claim within three months of the suspension starting. You must not refuse a reasonable offer of alternative work.
The grounds for claiming medical suspension are strictly applied so you should get advice if you think they are not paying the right amount, you are entitled to.
